Palestine Embroidered Kufiya

The Palestine Embroidered Kufiya commemorates Yasser Arafat, Palestine’s most renowned and influential political leader. The Kufiya not only speaks of the years of injustices and struggles that the Palestinians have endured, but also of the resilience, strength, and faith they carry in their hearts. This spirit has allowed them to continue battling for their freedom, liberation, and identity since the Nakba in 1948.

Palestinians, both in Palestine and the diaspora, have fought to keep their flag raised high, showing the world they never give up or surrender. Palestine is their homeland and their right, and no form of occupation, no matter how strong, can take it away. Yasser Arafat was an icon and an inspiration to all Palestinians and revolutionaries. As leader of the Palestinian revolution, he devoted his life to Palestinian liberation, successfully making their cause a major issue in global public opinion and shaping Palestinian national identity. Arafat continued fighting for his people’s independence until his last breath, dying on November 11th, 2004, after a prolonged Israeli military siege in Ramallah. The cause of his death and the possibility of poisoning remain global controversies to this day.

Just like Yasser Arafat, Palestinians have never stopped battling for their freedom, liberation, and identity since 1948. They have fought to keep their flag flying high to demonstrate to the world that they neither give up nor surrender, and that they are proud of their country and identity.
